When Scan is checking a disk and discovers an error, it will display a dialog box giving the file name, the fork (resource or data), the sector number within that fork, and the actual error number. The error is displayed as a decimal number, and a technical manual should be consulted for the exact meaning. Recovery of the bad sector may or may not be possible, depending on the nature of the error, and other tools (such as FEdit) would be appropriate. If the Stop on Error item under the Options menu is checked, you must click the OK box to proceed. If the item is unchecked, Scan will proceed automatically.
